Privacy Policy

Version 1.0 · In force from 1 August 2026 · Silverit Technologies

This policy explains what information Silverit collects, why, who sees it, how long we keep it, and what a parent can ask us to do. It is written to be read by a parent, not by a lawyer.

The four things that matter most

  • Every person using Silverit is a child. Participants are school students from Class 5 onwards, and Indian law treats everyone under 18 as a child. There is no adult tier, so the strictest protections apply to every account.
  • We never sell personal data. Not to brands, not to anyone, in any form.
  • We run no tracking of any kind. No advertising cookies, no analytics scripts, no behavioural profiling, no targeted advertising.
  • A parent consents before we process anything, and can withdraw that consent at any time.

Who we are

Silverit Technologies, 4th Floor, Regus Business Center, Rectangle 1, Saket, New Delhi 110017.

For anything in this policy, write to hello@silverit.app. For a formal complaint, see the Data Protection page, which names the person responsible and the escalation route.

What we collect, and why

We collect only what the Bootcamp needs in order to work. Each item below exists for a stated reason, and we do not collect anything for a purpose we have not named.

WhatWhy we need it
Student name, class, school, and a reference code if one was usedTo register the student, credit their SilverStars, and issue their certificates
Parent or guardian name, relationship, email address and mobile numberTo obtain and record consent, to send Gift Cards and certificates, and to notify a change
Photographs, screenshots or PDFs of grocery billsTo read the brand, item, size and quantity, which is how SilverStars are calculated
The brand, item, size and quantity read from those billsTo build the household plastic footprint picture, which is the purpose of the project
Screenshots of social posts submitted to complete tasksTo verify a task was completed before crediting SilverStars
SilverStars earned and Gift Card brands chosenTo calculate and deliver the reward
KYC details, at the point of claiming a Gift Card onlyTo confirm the reward reaches the right family, and to meet the requirements of the brands issuing the codes
Basic device and log informationTo keep the service working and secure, and to investigate faults

We do not collect a student’s date of birth beyond the class they study in, a home address, a photograph of the student, or any biometric information.

Consent

We obtain verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian before we process a student’s personal data. Not before rewards are claimed. Before anything is processed at all, which means before the first bill is uploaded.

Consent is specific. It covers running the Bootcamp, calculating and delivering rewards, and building the aggregate plastic footprint. It does not cover anything else, and we will ask again if that ever changes.

A parent may withdraw consent at any time by writing to hello@silverit.app. Withdrawing consent ends participation. It does not cancel a Gift Card already claimed.

What we never do

  • We do not sell personal data.
  • We do not track student behaviour across the internet.
  • We do not build advertising or behavioural profiles of students.
  • We do not direct targeted advertising at students.
  • We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics on this website.

The last of those is a fact about how the site is built, not only a promise. There are no tracking scripts on silverit.app.

What participating brands receive

Brands receive aggregate, community-level insight only. That means patterns across a locality or a cohort of students, of the form “households in this area used roughly this much packaging of this category over this period”.

Brands do not receive names, contact details, addresses, bill images, or any data that identifies an individual student, family or household. They cannot ask us for it, and there is no paid tier that unlocks it.

Who else touches the data

We use a small number of service providers to run the Bootcamp. They act on our instructions and may not use the data for their own purposes.

  • Optical character recognition. Bill images are processed by an established third-party OCR service to read the text. The image is sent to return text; the student’s identity is not sent alongside it.
  • Website and application hosting. Our site and service are hosted on established cloud infrastructure.
  • Messaging and email. WhatsApp and email are used to send Gift Cards, certificates and notices to the registered parent contact.

The current list of these providers is published on the Data Protection page and kept up to date there.

We do not otherwise share personal data with third parties, except where the law requires it or where it is necessary to protect someone from harm.

Where the data is held

Our infrastructure providers operate globally, so data may be processed on servers outside India. Where that happens, we require the provider to protect the data to the standard set out in this policy and in our agreement with them.

How long we keep it

WhatKept for
Bill imagesUntil the SilverStars from that bill are verified and the claim window has closed, then deleted
Data read from bills, with the student identifier removedRetained as part of the aggregate plastic footprint
Task screenshotsUntil the task is verified and the Bootcamp closes, then deleted
Registration, consent and reward recordsAs long as needed to honour a claim and to show that consent was properly obtained
KYC detailsAs long as required by the brands issuing Gift Cards and by law

When data is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for, it is deleted.

To be confirmed before this is treated as finalThe exact retention periods above are stated as conditions rather than fixed durations. Once the console is built, replace each with a definite period, for example “90 days after the claim window closes”. A policy that commits to a date is stronger than one that commits to a condition.

A parent’s rights

A parent or lawful guardian may ask us to:

  • Show what we hold about their child
  • Correct anything that is wrong
  • Delete it
  • Withdraw consent, which ends participation
  • Nominate someone to exercise these rights if the parent is unable to

Write to hello@silverit.app. We will respond, and the Data Protection page sets out how long we take and what to do if you are not satisfied.

Children

This service is designed for children, and that shapes every decision above rather than being a footnote to it. We do not carry out behavioural tracking or profiling of a student, and we do not direct targeted advertising at a student. These are not things a parent can consent to on a child’s behalf, and we do not ask them to.

Changes to this policy

We will post any change on this page and update the version note at the top. Where a change is material and affects an active participant, we will notify the registered parent by email and WhatsApp before it takes effect.
